Ram Pothineni To Direct Himself: Mistake Or Confidence?

Apparently, the big news of a prime-time star hero of the Telugu industry wielding a megaphone is getting real. The likes of Megastar Chiranjeevi, Raviteja and others tried to direct a film at some point of time in their career, but that never worked out. The only star who tried hands and got burnt is none other than Pawan Kalyan, whose feat Johnny blasted without trace at the box office. And now, it looks like Ram Pothineni joins that bandwagon.

After a Tamil director, who happens to be the protege of Lokesh Kanagaraj, walked out of Ram’s compound, the actor decided to give a shot himself at the megaphone. For a story written by him, which features societal crime and how one man will take things into his hands and gets rid of the evil, Ram is said to be taking up the direction avatar now, while acting himself as the hero. At a time when many past-decade directors like SJ Suryah, Samuthirakani and others have turned to prime-time acting, now it’s quite interesting to see Ram moving towards directing himself. Well, would that be huge confidence in himself or a mistake?

None could actually tell whether that’s a mistake or not, because who knows better than Ram himself whether directing himself is a good thing or not. When the likes of Pradeep Ranganathan and most recently, Ken Karunas (Youth movie) did that magic with both directing and acting as lead, hope Ram would also do it. The film will be announced in a week or so as per the gossip popping up.
