It is already known that Telugu cinema follows this history of giving special tags to heroes when they are in developing stage. Incidentally, Hero Ram Pothineni has spoken out about the incident where the tag that was earlier given to him has now been snatched by another Hero.

Ram Pothineni recently opened up about why he decided to drop the Ustad tag that was once attached to his name. In the early part of his career, he agreed to use the tag because his producers and fans felt it would give him a strong identity.

Even then, Ram was never fully comfortable with it, as he always believed that a performer should be known for his work rather than a title. Over time, he also noticed that the same tag was being used by another hero, which made him feel it was the right moment to step away from it.

Ram explained that he prefers a more natural space where his films, performances and energy define him. After leaving the tag behind, fans began calling him the Energetic Star, a title he feels suits his personality better.

He shared that actors grow when they focus on craft, improvement and connection with the audience instead of relying on labels.

By removing the tag, Ram showed confidence in his own journey and clarity about the image he wants to carry forward. His decision reflects maturity and a belief that true stardom comes from talent, not titles.
