Ramayana Plans a Grand Hollywood Premiere Ahead of Its India Release
The Hollywood premiere could play an important role in positioning Ramayana beyond the Indian market.
Indian cinema’s ambitious adaptation of the Ramayana is preparing for a major international showcase ahead of its theatrical release. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, the film is expected to reach global audiences through a special screening in Los Angeles on October 27, nine days before its scheduled Indian release on November 5.
The reported premiere venue is the David Geffen Theater at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, one of Los Angeles’ prominent film institutions. The screening is expected to bring the project into the spotlight among international film enthusiasts and industry professionals. However, the final guest list and other event details have yet to be officially confirmed.
The Hollywood premiere could play an important role in positioning Ramayana beyond the Indian market. With its familiar mythological story, large-scale production and international technical collaboration, the film aims to attract audiences who may be discovering the Indian epic for the first time.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being produced by Prime Focus Studios, DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi portrays Sita, while Yash takes on the role of Ravana.
The film has also drawn attention for its music collaboration between Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman and renowned Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer. Their involvement adds another international dimension to the production.
With a substantial budget, ambitious visual effects and a story deeply rooted in Indian culture, Ramayana is positioning itself as more than a conventional theatrical release. The upcoming premiere could offer an early opportunity to introduce the film to a global audience and build anticipation ahead of its arrival in cinemas.
