Ramayana Beats Dhurandhar Before Release
Even before its theatrical release, Ramayana has reportedly earned huge interest through its pre-release business.
Director Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is already making headlines even before its release. The two-part mythological film is one of the biggest Indian movie projects ever made. With a huge budget and a star-studded cast, the film has created strong excitement among movie lovers across the world.
Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, while Yash will be seen as Ravana. Sai Pallavi is playing the role of Sita. Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey plays Lakshmana. The film also features Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Shobana, Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Harish Uthaman, Faisal Malik, and several other actors in important roles.
Even before its theatrical release, Ramayana has reportedly earned huge interest through its pre-release business. The makers are selling theatrical, overseas, digital, satellite, and music rights separately. Trade experts believe these deals are setting new records in the Indian film industry.
The latest report says that T-Series has acquired the music rights for both Ramayana Part 1 and Ramayana Part 2 in all languages for around ₹75 crore. Although an official announcement is still awaited, this deal is expected to become the biggest music rights agreement in Hindi cinema if confirmed.
The report also says that this deal will beat the previous record set by Dhurandhar, whose music rights were reportedly sold for around ₹54 crore. If the ₹75 crore deal is confirmed, it will create a new benchmark for music rights in Bollywood.
The film's music is another major attraction. Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman and legendary Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer are working together for the first time on an Indian film. Fans are eagerly waiting to hear both the songs and the background score.
Apart from the music deal, the film has also secured strong business in other areas. Dharma Productions has reportedly taken the North India theatrical rights, while Sony Pictures is handling overseas distribution. Reports also suggest that a huge amount will be spent on global marketing and promotions.
The makers are expected to release the digital trailer soon. Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled for a grand worldwide release during Diwali 2026. With record-breaking deals, a powerful cast, and world-class music, the film is already one of the most talked-about Indian movies of the year.
