Finally, the much-awaited trailer of producer Namit Malhotra’s biggest fantasy film “Ramayana” is out today. As expected, the 4-minute trailer is full of fantasy-laced visuals, with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash playing the roles of Lord Rama, goddess Sita and Ravana. As the trailer came out, mixed talk has come out and here is how it goes.
Most of the audience agreed to the fact that the scale and grandeur being shown in Ramayana is of a big range, but then some Gen Z started to find fault as they feel that the movie is crafted using seedance-like AI tools. At the same time, some wondered why there are lots of golden-age-like set pieces in the movie, rather than showing the world that belongs to Earth almost 5000 years ago.
Coming to casting, everyone has unanimously agreed to Yash’s performance as Ravana, as he looked mighty. However, many south indian audience hasn’t liked Ranbir in the role of Ramayana, while North audience asre criticing Sai Pallavi, who played Sita. Coming to the Soorpanaka role, played by Rakul, a few questioned why she’s shown glamorous, and some asked why the makers deviated from making her a Rakshas.
Well, on the whole, the lack of some real high moments in the trailer has stunned many. But then, many pan-world audiences are awestruck by the golden glittering visuals, the special effects and the whole dynamic of Ramayana, including AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer’s music.
That’s the good, bad and ugly being talked about in the trailer of Ramayana, a film that’s aimed to become the historical reference point to the world about Indians and Hinduism.
