There has been a lot of talk going on about 'Ramayana'. Though it has been in discussion for quite some time, it is picking up pace and many said that it may go on floors soon. Many expected it to start this summer or in the second half of 2024. The team is yet to announce any details regarding this prestigious project. 'Dangal' and 'Chichchore' fame Nitesh Tiwari will be directing this project.

It is well known that Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor is expected to play the role of lord Ram. But the latest reports suggest that the shooting may not start this year. There are many reasons for it and the first one is casting. Barring Ranbir's, every other name is linked to the project but not confirmed. Sai Pallavi is expected to play the role of Sita but the actress never talked about it in public.

With the story divided into three parts, the pre-production work is taking longer. Also, Nitish Tiwari and team are doing their best to work out the call sheets and schedules of all the actors. The team cannot invite any political leader for the next two months for the movie's opening as there is an election code in full force. They have reportedly planned to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the event but it is not a possibility now.

There is a talk that Yash did not give the green signal to the project till date as he is busy with 'Toxic'. Looking at all these, it is better to forget about this magnum opus for some time. Already, Vijay Sethupathi walked out of the project and Sunny Deol is yet to sign the dotted line. The discussions are going on with Rakul Preet Singh regarding Surpanaka's role and even Naveen Polishetty did not give a confirmation. Nitish is planning to make this in a grand manner but the film is suffering with delays even before the start. Ranbir is also getting very busy after 'Animal'. He is doing 'Brahmastra 2', 'Animal Park' and another project.
