Ram Gopal Varma, the director who blew minds in the ’90s with his blockbusters and iconic screenplays, direction, writing, is back, but this time not behind the camera. He’s stepping in front of it as a lead actor, and fans are buzzing to see what he’ll do. Sure, he’s done tiny cameos in Ice Cream 2, Vagaveeti, Amma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Biddalu, and Prabhas Kalki 2898 AD, but now he’s playing a full-on major role. And he’s calling it a “Show Man” project, basically a film that reflects his own personality rather than a regular acting experiment.
The movie, Mad Monster, is classic RGV style. Gangsters, underworld, intensity, that signature edge is there, but in a new form. The tagline alone has fans curious. Everyone’s wondering, can he pull off acting like he directs? On top of that, veteran actor Suman is playing the villain. Known for going toe-to-toe with legends like Superstar Rajinikanth, Suman sharing the screen with Ram Gopal Varma is already a hot topic. Fans are expecting some memorable moments between the two.
Produced by Tummalapalli Ramasathyanarayana, Mad Monster is already in the works. The team plans to drop the trailer around Sankranti and announce the release date then too. With RGV stepping into a hero’s shoes, the film promises to be different, daring, and very much a Ram Gopal Varma experience, just with him on screen this time.
