Is There NO Ticket Price Hike for Ranabaali?
Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming film Ranabaali is creating strong expectations among Telugu movie lovers.
Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming film Ranabaali is creating strong expectations among Telugu movie lovers. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the period action drama is scheduled for release on October 16. The film is reportedly being made on a budget of around Rs. 120 crore. However Vijay's latest statement about ticket prices has raised an interesting question. Does Ranabaali really need a ticket price hike.
During the promotions of Ranabaali, Vijay Deverakonda made an important statement about movie ticket prices. He said that he does not want ticket price hikes for his films as far as he can decide. However he made one exception. If he gets an opportunity to work with star director SS Rajamouli on a big project then he may consider a ticket price hike because of the scale of that film.
In recent years ticket prices have increased for several big Telugu releases. While these hikes can help producers recover their investments quickly they can also make movie tickets expensive for ordinary audiences.
Ranabaali reportedly has a budget of Rs. 120 crore. Recovering such a large investment is not an easy task. The producers need strong theatrical collections and good audience support to achieve their targets.
However a ticket price hike is not the only way to increase collections. If a film receives positive reviews and strong word of mouth more people may visit theatres. Affordable ticket prices can also encourage families and young audiences to watch the film.
A price hike may help a film collect more money from fewer viewers in the initial days. But if the audience does not like the film the higher prices may not help it achieve its expected collections.
Meanwhile Vijay Deverakonda words can be either positive or negative for the film. If now, government announces a hike for this film then his words may go as trolls and memes in social media. If the government doesn't allow ticket hikes then it may affect film collections at least to some extent.
