Do you know who the highest paid actor and director in the Indian film industry are right now? As per the latest talk in film circles, the names being discussed are Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar.
This buzz is coming from their big project Dhurandhar. The film is planned in two parts, and both parts together were made with a controlled budget of around Rs 260 crores. Despite keeping the budget in check, the movie has created huge business through its collections.
Reports say that Dhurandhar Part 1 alone earned more than Rs 1400 crores worldwide. From this, the share is estimated to be around Rs 700 crores. The second part, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is expected to perform even bigger. Trade experts believe it may collect close to Rs 2500 crores, which could bring a share of nearly Rs 1500 crores.
Apart from theatre earnings, the film has also made strong money from non-theatrical deals. Both parts together have reportedly earned around Rs 600 crores from digital and satellite rights.
When all these numbers are combined, the total profit is said to cross Rs 2500 crores, even after removing the production cost. What makes this more interesting is the profit-sharing deal. It is said that Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar each hold a 20 percent share in the project, while Jio Cinema owns the remaining 60 percent.
Because of this agreement, both the actor and the director could earn more than Rs 500 crores each from this franchise alone. This is why they are being called the highest earners in Indian cinema right now.
There is also talk that the makers may re-edit the film by adding unused footage and release it as a web series. If that happens, it could bring in even more revenue.
However, these figures are only rough estimates based on industry discussions and not officially confirmed.
