The upcoming Hindi big budget film Dhurandhar 2 is already generating massive buzz across the film industry, with trade circles predicting that the film could challenge several long standing box office records.

Even before the start of advance bookings, discussions among exhibitors and analysts suggest that the sequel might attempt to rewrite the opening benchmarks in India.

According to early projections, the film could create history in national multiplex chains with advance ticket sales expected to reach between 7 lakh and 10 lakh tickets. If this happens, it would place the film among the biggest pre release ticket sellers ever seen in the country.

Trade estimates also indicate that the opening day collections in India could land somewhere between ₹80 crore and ₹100 crore net. Such a start would put the film in the league of the biggest Bollywood openers in recent years.

The extended four day opening weekend is another area where the film could dominate. Industry trackers believe the movie may collect between ₹350 crore and ₹400 crore net in India during its first four days. Globally, the four day worldwide gross is being predicted at around ₹500 crore to ₹600 crore if the hype converts into footfalls.

If the film sustains strong word of mouth, analysts believe the lifetime India net could cross the ₹1000 crore mark. Worldwide gross collections could even approach ₹1700 crore to ₹2000 crore, placing Dhurandhar 2 among the highest grossing Indian films ever if these projections become reality.
