Like a shadow that just won’t leave, trouble seems to find Ravi Kishan again. The actor-turned-politician, who many remember as Maddali Shiva Reddy from the 2014 hit Race Gurram, is now caught in a real-life scare. A death threat, allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has stirred tension around him. The strange part? The threat didn’t go directly to him but to his family priest, Praveen Shastri, who often performs poojas at his house.

It started with a call on November 4. The caller, from an unknown number, made bold statements against PM Modi and CM Yogi and then said Ravi Kishan would be dealt with. Moments later, a WhatsApp message showed up, pictures of Ravi Kishan and BJP MLA Pradeep Shukla marked with a red ‘X’. The profile photo on the number showed Lawrence Bishnoi’s image. That was enough to set off alarm bells. Shastri wasted no time and filed a complaint at the Ramgarh Tal police station in Gorakhpur. The cops have already opened an investigation.

Turns out, this isn’t the first time Ravi’s received such threats. A similar case popped up earlier, and one person was even arrested then. This time, though, the police are taking no chances. The cyber team’s digging into the source, and the UP police have ramped up security around him. Bishnoi’s name coming up again has definitely made the department uneasy.

Praveen Shastri has asked the government to step in and ensure proper protection. Ravi Kishan, meanwhile, sounds unbothered. He said he’s not afraid and won’t bow to threats. Public service and dharma aren’t my politics, they’re my way of life, he said. For someone who’s played villains and heroes alike, he seems to know exactly how to face both in real life too.
