Keeping his usual antics aside, Mass Raja Raviteja has now come up with the film “Irumudi”. The film has a thriller angle and, more or less, it has the popular ‘Ayyappa Deeksha’ angle. Guess what, the arrival of Sravana Masam is likely to have a positive effect on this, and here is what the trade observers are saying right now.

While some of the devotees take Ayyappa Deeksha in December, such that they would go to Sabarimalai on Pongal eve to catch the holy light there, most other devotees take up the deeksha in Sravana Masam only, which started last week. As per trade circles, though many Ayyappa devotees won’t come to theatres and watch movies, the specific Bhakti angle inside the movie might bring them to watch it. If that happens, surely Irumudi is going to hit the ball out of the park.

On the downside, as the Sravana Masam has started, if the devotional angle inside the movie is lesser and the action-thriller elements cloud it a lot, then those audiences might get disconnected. On a whole, Raviteja’s Irumudi is on the edge now, and the balance could be either that side or this side.

While August 21st is the most ideal date, the film will have a good seven-day run until “Toxic” arrives on the 26th. So whatever miracles Raviteja would pull off, he should do this in this stipulated time frame only.
