Irumudi Has Given Me Immense Confidence: Ravi Teja

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s massive blockbuster Irumudi is unstoppable at the box office, with the movie collecting huge numbers. Today, the team celebrated its success, with the entire core team in attendance.

Director Shiva Nirvana described the film as an important moment in his relationship with Telugu audiences, saying that after Ninnu Kori and Majili, they welcomed him into their homes, whereas Irumudi made them take the name Shiva Nirvana into their hearts.

He also explained how much faith Ravi Teja placed in him. “Making a deeply emotional film with a mass hero was a challenging proposition, but Ravi Teja gave me complete creative freedom and did everything necessary to serve the story.”

The director then shared the touching reaction of Ravi Teja’s daughter Moksha to the narration. “Moksha listened while imagining her own father in the story and became emotional during the second half. She held my hands and asked me to stop. She became very emotional when she watched the movie in a theatre.”

Ravi Teja praised all the actors and technicians associated with the movie. He said the chemistry between Shiva and DOP Vishnu worked particularly well because both shared the same speed. He also praised Real Satish’s energy and fitness and recalled the tradition of actors and directors taking responsibility for choreography, revealing that Shiva choreographed the Yaalalo Yaalalo song.

The actor had equally strong words for GV Prakash Kumar. Calling him the soul of Irumudi, Ravi said the background score became one of the film’s biggest strengths. He revealed that his daughter Moksha was crying while watching the movie on release day, with the music and sound intensifying the emotional experience.

Ravi Teja also spoke about his creative influences. “During the pandemic, I watched numerous Malayalam and Tamil films and was particularly impressed by rooted filmmaking. I often wondered whether Telugu audiences would embrace similarly grounded stories. The response to Irumudi has now given me immense confidence.”

Ravi Teja said his hug with Shiva Nirvana was not simply a celebration of a successful film; it was a gesture of respect for the director’s personality, honesty and conviction. “Despite delivering a huge blockbuster, Shiva has remained exactly the same person.”
