Irumudi, An Unexpected Unstoppable Force
That’s not it, no other pressure has stood against this gigantic film now.
Superstar Raviteja’s latest film, Irumudi, continues to exert its dominance on the box office, no matter what. The Shiva Nirvana directorial, which released with almost no expectations at all, has done the unexpected at the box office by becoming the most talked-about movie. That’s not it, no other pressure has stood against this gigantic film now.
What started as a simple, raw and rustic film in a village backdrop without the usual Raviteja antics, glamorous songs and amazing one-liners, has now scored over ₹150 crores in just 10 days of run. The film is still looking strong, and other family films Viswanath & Sons, as well as the mighty Yash’s Toxic, have failed to hit the brakes on the Irumudi wagon. The film is looking cool and might surprise by collecting ₹200 crores as well, if things go well for the next couple of weeks.
Until ‘The Paradise’ hits the cinemas towards the end of September, there is not much of a competition for Irumudi at the Telugu box office for another full month. Though there are many small-budget movies that are hitting cinemas, they may not pose a threat to Irumudi for its genre, appeal, and connect with family audiences as well as the masses. This is a true-blue comeback from Raviteja, we have to say.
