The theatres are seeing big crowds and fans are flocking to theatres to enjoy the films. But there is a twist here. The mad rush and massive celebrations at the theatre are not for new releases but the re-release of special films in the career of star heroes.

Re-releases of old films are the new trend in Tollywood and films of a few stars were released. The trend has gripped the industry not just the star heroes, films of senior heroes were also released. Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna also joined the list as his iconic film Chennakesava Reddy was re-released in September last year.

The trend of re-releasing films in Tollywood started with Pokiri film and many other films joined the list. The fever gripped the fans that even the dubbed films are also being re-released. Surya S/O Krishnan was re-released recently and it received a big reception.

The trend of re-releases is helping the fans to relive the moments and enjoy the films on the silver screen again. Theatres are also seeing big collections as only a few theatres would be selected for the releases.

However, the celebrations of fans go over the board sometime and they end up damaging the screens and furniture there. This happened a few times and the theatre owners had a tough time with this.

It is known that Prabhas's Yogi film was re-released and fans celebrated it in a big way. But a few fans lost control and the screen of a theatre was reportedly torn into two. Fans danced in front of the screen and fell on it and as a result, the screen was torn.

This is said to have happened in Nandyal at the Raj Theatre. With this, Nandyal Cinema Owners Association is said to have decided to not screen re-releases of films and many say that the over-enthusiasm of fans would end the re-releases trend.
