RGV Takes a Dig at Ranbir's 5,000-Year-Old Flying Vehicles Remark
| Actor Ranbir Kapoor's recent comments about flying vehicles mentioned in the Ramayana have created a discussion on social media.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor's recent comments about flying vehicles mentioned in the Ramayana have created a discussion on social media. During the promotions of the upcoming film Ramayana, Ranbir made an interesting statement about India's ancient knowledge and the Pushpaka Vimana. His comments have now received a sarcastic response from filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV).
During an interview with anchor Suma, Ranbir spoke about the flying vehicles mentioned in the Ramayana. He said, "If Elon Musk invents a flying car today, India had flying vehicles 5,000 years ago."
The actor was referred to the Pushpaka Vimana which is described in the Ramayana as a flying vehicle. Ram Gopal Varma responded to the comments in his own style. He made a sarcastic remark about India's journey from the Pushpaka Vimana to modern aviation.
RGV reportedly joked that India started with the Pushpaka Vimana thousands of years ago but has now ended up with its first airline, making a comparison between ancient stories and the country's present aviation situation.
While some people are supporting RGV's sarcastic take, others are criticising him. Some social media users have even called him "Ravan Gopal Varma" because of his comments about the Ramayana and its characters.
However few are commenting that why RGV is unnecessarily making comments even when it comes to mythological movies like Ramayana.
Ranbir Kapoor is playing Lord Rama in the upcoming film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Yash will be seen as Ravana, while Sai Pallavi plays Sita. The film is being made on a grand scale and will be released in two parts.
The first part is scheduled to release worldwide on November 5.
