Why Does Rishab Shetty Look Too Desperate?
There is nothing wrong with an actor signing multiple films when the scripts are strong. In fact, Rishab may be extremely confident about the stories and directors he is working with.
Rishab Shetty has become one of the most recognised names in Indian cinema after the huge success of the Kantara franchise. The film changed his career completely and gave him a strong pan-India image. However, his current choice of films is raising an interesting question that why is Rishab Shetty rushing into so many projects.
Usually, when an actor gets a massive blockbuster and becomes a pan-India star, there is a different approach. Actors often take their time, listen to several scripts and carefully choose projects that can take their career to the next level. They may even wait for months before announcing their next film.
Rishab Shetty seems to be following a different path. The actor already has several interesting projects in his lineup. He is currently associated with Jai Hanuman and also has The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj coming up. Now, reports suggest that he may be teaming up with Manjummel Boys director Chidambaram for a two-film deal. The first project is said to be a sports drama, while details about the second film are still unknown.
This is a surprisingly packed lineup. There is nothing wrong with an actor signing multiple films when the scripts are strong. In fact, Rishab may be extremely confident about the stories and directors he is working with. His choices also show that he does not want to sit quietly after the success of Kantara.
But there is another side to this. After achieving pan-India recognition, too many commitments can create unnecessary pressure. Audiences will now expect every Rishab Shetty film to offer something special. If several films arrive one after another, the excitement around each project could reduce.
More importantly, the success of Kantara has created a very high benchmark for him. His next few films will naturally be compared with that franchise.
