Rishab Shetty won the Best Actor Award while 'Brahmastra' won the Best VFX film.

The list of the winners of the 70th National Film Awards is out now and it is safe to say that South Indian films like 'Ponniyin Selvan' 'KGF', 'Kantara' and 'Thiruchitrambalam' (Thiru in Telugu) won a major share of awards in various categories. While a few deserving Bollywood and other language films were awarded, the domination of the South Indian film industry can clearly be seen.

Rishab Shetty won the Best Actor Award while 'Brahmastra' won the Best VFX film. The Best Actress award was won by two artists and it is Maanshi for 'Kutch Express' and Nitya Menen for 'Thiruchitrambalam'. Sooraj Barjatya won the Best Director award for the film 'Uunchai'. AR Rahman won the Best Music Director (Background Music) for 'Ponniyin Selvan while Naushad Sadar Khan won the Best Lyrics for the Haryanvi film Fouja.

Telugu choreographer Jani Master won the Best Choreographer award for his work in 'Thiruchitrambalam' while 'KGF 2' got the Best Action Direction Award. Emuthi Puthi is selected as the Best Assamese Film while 'Gulmohar' is the Best Hindi film and it stars Manoj Bajpayee and Sharmila Tagore. 'Saudi Vellakka CC 225/2009' won the Best Malayalam Film while Best Odia Film went to 'Daman'. Best Telugu film was won by 'Karthikeya 2' directed by Chandoo Mondeti.

Anand Ekarshi won the Best Screenplay for the Malayalam film 'Aattam'. Best Film Award was also won by 'Aattam'. The same film won Best Editing too. Pritam won the Best Music Director for his work in 'Brahmastra'. Niki Joshi was the Best Costume Designer for the work in 'Kutch Express' while the Best Sound Design went to 'Ponniyin Selvan 1'. Anand Krishnamoorthi won it. Ravi Varman is the Best Cinematographer for 'PS 1' as well. Arijit Singh won the Best Singer Male for her work in Kesariya song in 'Brahmastra' while Bombay Jayashri won the Best Singer Female. Sreepath won the Best Child Artist award for 'Malikappuram' while Neena Gupta is the Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Unchai'. Pavan Raj Malhotra is the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in 'Fouja'.
