While a journalist dragged Mahanati Savitri to court, resulting in her humiliation

Mahanati Savitri, an iconic figure in Telugu cinema, remains etched in the hearts of the people, her life akin to a rose amidst thorns. However, despite her elevated status, she faced a tumultuous period when a journalist targeted her personal life, leading to a legal battle and widespread criticism.

Renowned actor and director R Narayanamurthy recently shed light on this episode, highlighting the power of the media and the responsibility it carries. He cautioned against delving into the personal lives of public figures, citing the ordeal Mahanati Savitri endured when a journalist, Parameshwara, engaged in such actions.

He said, “Parameshwara's contentious articles provoked Savitri, prompting her to take legal action. The ensuing court case subjected her to frequent appearances in court, drawing attention and scrutiny from her devoted fans. Despite the eventual resolution of the case by the judge, the damage had been inflicted, tarnishing Savitri's reputation and subjecting her to public ridicule and even physical assault”.

Talking about it, Narayanamurthy spoke about the impact of irresponsible journalism on the lives of those in the entertainment industry. He requested the need for media practitioners to wield their influence judiciously, refraining from sensationalizing personal matters that can irreparably harm individuals' lives and careers.
