Official: Robinhood Out of Christmas Race
But the point of concern here is that the coming Sankranti season is already occupied with multiple big ticket films and so is the Valentines weekend in February.
Tollywood has embraced the theatrical arrival of the second part of Pushpa, which is setting the box office on absolute fire. With this Allu Arjun film going great guns at the box office a pretty significant development related to Tollywood has happened now.
Nithiin’s Robinhood which is coincidentally produced by Mythri Movie Makers who earlier backed Pushpa 2, is now officially out of the Christmas race.
The makers have announced that this action comedy film is not arriving in theatres this Christmas holiday season. They further confirmed that the new release date of the film will be announced in the due course and apologised for the delay.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, #Robinhood will not be releasing on December 25th. A new release date will be announced soon, the communication from the makers of Robinhood read.
The strong box office run of Pushpa appears to have propelled Mythri Movie Makers to go for an alternative release plan.
But the point of concern here is that the coming Sankranti season is already occupied with multiple big ticket films and so is the Valentines weekend in February. So the chances are that Robinhood is in for a long haul as the film waits it out to secure a prospective theatrical window.
With this postponement, it is clear that the second part of Pushpa will continue to have a long run at the box office, this Christmas season. This is mostly due to the lack of new options for the Telugu audience, and also the larger-than-life appeal that has been granted for the Allu Arjun film.
As for RobinHood, this film is likely to prepare for the electrical release in the first half of 2025. Given the combination value of Nithiin, Sri Leela and Venky Kudumula, this film is likely to have decent prospects at the box office, no matter when it releases.
