A small push can change everything. One film clicks, and suddenly the road ahead looks different. Telugu cinema has seen this many times. Vijay Deverakonda had Arjun Reddy. Siddu Jonnalagadda had DJ Tillu. Now, the same kind of buzz is slowly building around Roshan Kanakala.
Roshan entered as a lead actor with Bubblegum. It gave him notice, but Mowgli feels like a bigger moment. The film released with encouraging talk, and many feel this could be the break he was waiting for. Directed by Sandeep Raj, Mowgli carried expectations even before release, mainly because of its unusual setting and emotional core.
At a recent press meet in Hyderabad, Roshan spoke freely about the film. He called Mowgli a very honest love story. The plot follows a young man who is ready to cross limits for the girl he loves. The conflict comes from a character named Christopher Nolan, and that clash drives the film forward. Forest locations, action, emotion, light comedy… everything is mixed naturally. Roshan said the pre-interval and interval blocks keep the pace tight, while the climax stays with the audience.
Shooting in the forest was not easy, but Roshan says it changed him in a strange way. He enjoyed the raw life there so much that returning to the city felt odd. “For a while, it didn’t feel like my world anymore,” he admitted with a smile.
Cinema has always been part of his life, and he still takes advice from his father whenever needed. With Mowgli finding its audience, Roshan has already moved ahead.
He confirmed that he has signed two new films. One is an intense love story. The other is a romantic comedy with a lighter tone. Announcements will come soon. For Roshan Kanakala, this feels like a shift, not noise. And sometimes, that’s exactly how a new phase begins.
