Rukmini Vasanth Takes A Big Step Into Malayalam Cinema

Rukmini Vasanth has taken a new step in her acting journey. The popular Kannada actress has officially started work on her first Malayalam film. She shared a few pictures from the beginning of the shoot on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of the special moment. The film is currently known as NP51 and stars Nivin Pauly in the lead.

In the pictures, Rukmini can be seen holding a film clapboard and smiling for the camera. She looked happy and excited as she marked the start of a new chapter. She also shared a warm note along with the pictures. Rukmini said that being part of a place she had admired for a long time feels very special to her. She added that getting a small place in that world is an important first for her and thanked everyone involved in the project.

The post began with the words “And so it begins”, followed by a heart emoji and the hashtag NP51. Rukmini’s Instagram post also credited Martin Prakkat Films, Pauly Jr Pictures, Nashid Famy, Martin Prakkat, Nivin Pauly, Sibi Chavara, Renjith Nair, Bablu Aju, Electronic Kili Official, Kannan Mohan, Nidhin Nagesh, Ashik S, Ronex Xavier, Melwy J, Shabeer Malavattath, Vineeth Vijay, The Real Vedic, Nitish Chandran Acharya, Boyak Official and Old Monks Design.

The upcoming movie is being directed by Nashid Famy. This project is his first film as a director. He is also writing the screenplay with Nidhin Nagesh. Nashid Famy was earlier associated with the writing team of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey. The makers have described NP51 as a romantic comedy, but the main story and other details are still being kept secret.

The film brings together Nivin Pauly, Rukmini Vasanth and Aju Varghese. Nivin and Aju have already worked together, including in Sarvam Maya, which performed well commercially. Rukmini’s entry adds a fresh Kannada-Malayalam combination to the project.

NP51 has a strong production team behind it. Filmmaker Martin Prakkat is backing the movie through his production house. Nivin Pauly is also producing it through Pauly Jr Pictures. Siby Chavara and Renjith Nair are also among the producers. Green Room Release will take care of the distribution.

The technical team includes Electronic Kili as the music composer, Bablu Aju as the cinematographer and Kannan Mohan as the editor. The official title of the movie has not been announced yet. More information about the story, characters and remaining cast members is expected later.

For Rukmini, this is another major opportunity after gaining attention through Kannada films such as Sapta Sagaradaache Ello. She was also part of Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1. She is now expanding her career into other South Indian film industries.

Rukmini is also waiting for the release of Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash. The film also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria and is scheduled to release on August 26.

She is also part of Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel and led by Jr NTR, which is expected to arrive on June 11 next year.
