Talented Kannada heroine Rukmini Vasanth says that she is happy to see everyone focusing on South cinema. She made her Kannada debut with 'Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Varjramuni' and went on to act in a Hindi project 'Upstarts' as well. It is 'Sapta Saagaraalu Dhaati' which brought her a lot of fame. It is the same film that made her popular among Telugu people too.
She is acting in two Tamil projects right now and said that she is happy that everyone are encouraging South cinema. Speaking in an interview, she said that films like 'KGF', 'Kantara', 'Pushpa' and 'RRR' turned everyone's heads toward Southern films. Starting from Bollywood to Hollywood, our films are getting a lot of appreciation according to her.
She said, “It was refreshing to see filmmakers like Karan Johar and Konkana Sen Sharma discuss their appreciation for my film. Today, it's the Indian film industry and the North is getting exposed to films from the South. It's exciting to see audiences across the country discovering diverse stories and cultures through cinema. It's a healthy trend that fosters a richer national film scene.”
Talking about fame and new offers, she said, “Life has changed and I'm so grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way. The recognition has been wonderful but it does make it slightly tricky when I go to public places. My mom definitely worries whenever I'm out alone.” When asked about her future if not movies, she replied, “If movies didn't work out, my Plan B was to become a Montessori teacher.”
