Everyone Told Kiran Abbavaram to Reject Chennai Love Story?

Director and writer Sai Rajesh recently shared an interesting story about the making of Chennai Love Story. During an interview, he revealed that many people advised Kiran Abbavaram not to accept the film because they felt it was a heroine oriented story.

Sai Rajesh said several people told Kiran Abbavaram, "This is a girl's film. You should not do it." He even said that Kiran himself can confirm that many people gave him the same advice before the movie started.

However, Sai Rajesh believed the story had strong emotions and would connect with the audience. He compared it with his earlier blockbuster Baby. He explained that Baby was also centered around a female character, but the male lead Anand Deverakonda’s role was equally important and powerful. He felt Chennai Love Story had the same balance.

Sai Rajesh also shared another interesting moment. He met Kiran Abbavaram and suggested that the heroine's name should appear before the hero's name in the film's posters and opening credits. He told Kiran that when a film is mainly about a female character, giving her name first would earn him more respect from audiences because it would show confidence in the story.

Kiran Abbavaram immediately agreed with the idea. That is why actress Sri Gouri Priya's name appears before Kiran Abbavaram's name in the posters and the movie credits. Sai Rajesh praised Kiran for supporting the story instead of thinking only about hero image.

Meanwhile, Chennai Love Story is also performing well at the box office. After a strong opening weekend, the film saw the usual drop on its first Monday. It collected around ₹3 crore net in India on Day 4. The film's total India net collection has reached ₹20.20 crore, while the worldwide gross collection has touched ₹28.70 crore.

The romantic drama stars Kiran Abbavaram, Sri Gouri Priya, and Trigun. The film is directed by Ravi Namburii, while the story and screenplay are written by National Award-winning filmmaker Sai Rajesh.
