"Salaar" Distribution Rights Go Big, Dil Raju's Significant Investment
The filmmakers are hopeful that the theatrical rights for the Telugu version of the movie will fetch them around Rs 200 crore
Prasanth Neel's much-anticipated film, "Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire," featuring Prabhas, has generated immense excitement among fans. The movie's trailer is eagerly awaited, and in the meantime, prominent South Indian producer and distributor Dil Raju has reportedly acquired the distribution rights for Nizam and Uttarandhra regions.
Dil Raju, renowned for his contributions to Telugu cinema through his production company Sri Venkateswara Creations, is said to have secured the rights for around Rs 80 crore. The deal is said to involve a non-refundable advance of Rs 65 crore and a refundable advance of Rs 15 crore.
The filmmakers are hopeful that the theatrical rights for the Telugu version of the movie will fetch them around Rs 200 crore. Following the success of movies like "RRR," the "Baahubali" series, and the "KGF" franchise overseas, Indian films are now commanding higher rates for international distribution rights.
In the US, "Salaar" has already begun its advance booking, with an impressive 8,600 tickets sold within two days. The film is set to be screened across 222 locations in the US, totaling 643 shows. Additionally, there are rumors suggesting that Yash, of "KGF" fame, will make a five-minute cameo appearance in "Salaar."
The movie itself is divided into two parts and promises an unprecedented storyline and spectacular action sequences. Prabhas's captivating on-screen presence is anticipated to leave audiences mesmerized.
