Sometimes success comes at the right time, no matter how the film is, and one such thing is happening with senior heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu now, as she’s about to take a maternity break. Her latest outing, “Maa Inti Bangaram”, which has her husband Raj Nidimoru writing it and Nandini Reddy directing it, has created a storm at the box office as it races past ₹80 crore gross now. Here’s the record it created.

If we look at the female-centric movies, or films that have a female star as the lead, the success ratio is very low, and only Kalyani Priyadarshan was able to achieve a bigger feat with that. Through her film “Lokah”, which grossed around ₹300 crores, she stands tall in the league. She’s followed by Keerthy Suresh with an exceptional performance in “Mahanati”, which collected ₹85 crore gross and won many accolades too. While Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram is no match in terms of content to those films, surely the film stands at No.3 spot purely because of its collections.

While Samantha might not grab awards like a Keerthy Suresh or score super big like a Kalyani Priyadarshan, she stands as an inspiration for writers and producers who want to make female-centric movies. If a movie is tightly written, well made and presented well, surely it will work out in the unseason, without glamour and without any big punchlines and crazy songs. Samantha is lucky to have got such a story for her, though it’s the good work of her husband.
