Luck Favours Samantha, ₹75 Cr & Running

One of the biggest successes at the box office sometimes comes up due to the timing of the release rather than the original content inside. Sometimes, when spirituality is the mood of the nation, films dealing with that subject have made 100s of crores. Later, when patriotism was the mood of the country, films on that theme grossed more than ₹ 1,000 crore. And sometimes, when there’s no film at all at the box office, and there is only one good film, then it will do more good.

The recently released film, Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram, has received only average reviews and decent word of mouth on Day 1, but trade circles didn’t expect the film to collect ₹30 crores gross at the box office. However, the film has beaten all the expectations, and Samantha’s charm, as well as amazing screen presence in this clean action film, has made Maa Inti Bangaram mint ₹75 crores gross till now.

Last Friday, there were no big Telugu releases to disturb the flow of the movie, and it continued the box office domination as there were no opponents at all. Of course, next Friday, there are movies like Naga Bandham and Rao Bahadur, and if those movies take the space, then Samantha’s Bangaram might slow down. However, trade circles are wondering to see if Samantha’s movie would gross ₹100 crores easily in its full run at the box office.

Maa Inti Bangaram was released in theatres after Peddi wave slowed down, and the magic crafted by Nandini Reddy and Raj Nidimoru worked out big time.
