In recent times, except for her personal life and Instagram pictures trending big time on social media, none of Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s movies have clicked at the box office. From U-Turn to Shubam, Shaakuntalam to the web-series Citadel: Honey-Bunny, nothing worked in her favour on the professional front. Here’s her new film.

Directed by Nandini Reddy, who has earlier carved out Jabardasth and Oh Baby with Samantha, is now helming the actress’s “Maa Inti Bangaram”. While Samantha is the producer of this film as well, the first look poster was released the other day. Guess what, the response to this first look poster is so muted that even Samantha’s vacation pictures seemed to attract far more attention than the film’s promotional material.

Posters often set the tone for a film, but in this case, the design and presentation of Samantha slipping into a saree and posing from the comfort of a kitchen, in a comic-book style look, haven’t sparked curiosity. As a result, the film has largely stayed out of conversations, despite Samantha being one of the most talked-about actresses in the country.

Now, all eyes are firmly on the trailer, scheduled to release on January 9th, which is seen as the real turning point for the film’s promotional campaign.
