Samyuktha Menon Opens Up: Acting in Telugu vs. Malayalam
In a surprising revelation, she admitted that acting in Telugu films presents a bigger challenge compared to Malayalam.
South Indian star Samyuktha Menon, who has carved a niche for herself in both Telugu and Malayalam cinema, recently shared her experiences working in both industries. In a surprising revelation, she admitted that acting in Telugu films presents a bigger challenge compared to Malayalam.
The language barrier is one hurdle Samyuktha faces in Telugu cinema. However, another aspect that throws her off is the makeup culture. "Makeup in Malayalam movies is very light and natural," she explains. "There seems to be more freedom while acting too."
In contrast, Telugu cinema embraces a more glamorous aesthetic. "One has to take a lot of self-care and constantly be concerned about on-screen appearance," Samyuktha says. "Heavier makeup is applied, and re-touching is frequent throughout filming. It feels quite restrictive, almost like having something heavy on your face."
Despite these challenges, Samyuktha remains committed to both industries. She currently has several Telugu projects lined up, including "Swayambhu" alongside Nikhil Siddhartha and an untitled film with Sharwanand. Additionally, she'll be seen opposite Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas in an upcoming Moonshine Pictures production, scheduled to begin filming in June.
