Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt’s controversial comment about India has received a lot of criticism. Recently he was invited by Shekhar Suman on his talk show, Shekhar Tonite, to discuss Gandhi Ji’s birthday. He was appreciated by viewers and critics during the show for his thoughts on peace and India, but his remarks about our nation and people were criticized by many.

He said, “ The people of this country are so lovely. There should be peace here. I can’t feel that peace in our country anymore. We Indians are large hearted people, and we are hospitable. We have given so much, and we should always remain that way. I pray to Shivji that those days come back soon.”

He also praised Mahatma Gandhi by pointing out his three monkeys and suggesting that perhaps a fourth monkey needs to be added to the family. He said, “Apun Gandhi ji ko bahut maanta hai. Aur Gandhi ji ke teen bandar sabko pata hai, bura mat dekho, bura mat suno, bura mat kaho. Lekin aaj ek chautha bandar bhi mangta hai. Bura dekhega to use theek kaun karega?”

There is always a massive response when Sanjay Dutt speaks about such issues. He has a huge following who try to find meaning to his philosophy. However some people have expressed disapproval for his recent remarks.

So finally Sanjay Dutt shared clarifications about his comments. The actor made it clear that he did not want to hurt or disrespect anyone. He said, "I would like to clarify that it was never my intention to hurt, offend or disrespect the sentiments of any individual, community or institution."

Also he shared a video statement and explained his side of the issue. He said that some of his comments had surprised people and that some viewers may have disagreed with what he said.

"I understand and appreciate their feelings. The one thing I want to clear up is that anything I said on the show was done according to the script of a pre-planned segment, as is the case with most talk shows of this kind. We were adhering to a script and performing that script. The things said during that segment of the show are a performance and do not reflect the true views of the persons involved," he said.

With this clarification at least, we have to see whether there is somewhere to end this issue.
