Every year, Sankranti brings a festive rush to Telugu cinema, with theatres packed and promotions running at full speed. Big stars usually lead the celebrations by actively meeting the media, attending interviews and creating strong buzz around their films. However Sankranti 2026 feels different. Even though several big and small films are releasing during the season, the usual excitement around promotions is missing. What stands out the most is the silence from leading heroes, who seem to be staying away from media interactions and public appearances by leaving fans and trade circles wondering about the reason behind this unexpected low key approach.

This year, big stars like Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, and Ravi Teja are in the festive race. Young heroes such as Sharwanand and Naveen Polishetty are also releasing their films during this season. Every day, there are small updates, events, or trailer launches. Still, fans feel something is lacking, especially when it comes to media interactions.

After the pre-release event of Raja Saab, Prabhas reportedly travelled abroad. He did not attend press meets or give interviews. Prabhas is known to avoid media interactions, and interviews are not something he enjoys. Ravi Teja also follows a similar path. Though he attended the trailer launch of Bharta Mahashayulaku Wignyapti, he barely spoke, leaving fans disappointed.

For Chiranjeevi’s film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, many events are being held. However, only director Anil Ravipudi is speaking to the media. Chiranjeevi is said to be planning media interactions only after the film’s release. Sharwanand, who has faced a few box-office setbacks in recent times, is also staying away from interviews. The fear of questions about past failures seems to be the reason. Even the trailer for his film has not been released yet, making promotions feel dull.

Among all, Anaganaga Oka Raju promotions are mostly handled by Naveen Polishetty. However even he has not interacted with the media so far, though fans expect him to start soon.

Usually, every film gets at least basic promotions. This time, promotions are happening, but without special buzz. Maybe filmmakers believe that a Sankranti release itself is the biggest promotion. That could be the reason why everyone seems to be taking it a bit lightly this festive season.
