The Delhi Police arrested the director who has offered Maha Kumbh fame Monalisa a role. Sanoj Mishra has been held for the raping an aspiring actress, the police said.

Delhi Police has arrested film director Sanoj Kumar Mishra following allegations of rape and coercion. The case involves a 28-year-old woman who claims she met Mishra in 2020 through social media platforms TikTok and Instagram.

According to the complaint, Mishra allegedly manipulated her into meeting him by threatening suicide. On June 18, 2021, he reportedly took her to a resort, drugged her, and sexually assaulted her. The victim stated that Mishra captured compromising photos and videos, using them to blackmail her into a relationship.

Promising marriage and film opportunities, he allegedly forced her into a live-in arrangement in Mumbai, where he reportedly assaulted her multiple times. She further claimed that she was coerced into three abortions. In February 2025, Mishra allegedly abandoned her and threatened to leak her private content if she reported him.

Following her complaint, an FIR was registered under multiple charges, including rape, assault, and criminal intimidation. Medical records from Muzaffarnagar confirmed the forced abortions. The accused, a 45-year-old married man, was taken into custody after the Delhi High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
