Sekhar Kammula Reveals Why He Was Hesitant to Approach Dhanush for Kubera

Dhanush is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Kubera. This movie marks his first collaboration with director Sekhar Kammula. Recently, Sekhar Kammula shared his experience about narrating the story of Kubera to Dhanush in an interview.

Sekhar Kammula said, "When the story was ready, I was hesitant to narrate it to Dhanush. I was worried and doubted whether he knew me or not. However, when I called him, he surprised me and talked about his favorite films out of my filmography."

The film has been in development for a while and is expected to be a political thriller. Kubera stars Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles. Jim Sarbh and Dalip Tahil will also play important supporting characters.

The story is expected to follow the life of a beggar who undergoes a major transformation. This change leads him to face moral dilemmas. The themes of greed and ambition will be explored throughout the film.

The release date for Kubera has not yet been confirmed. However, glimpses of the characters have already sparked interest in the film. Dhanush has been gaining attention for his recent work.

Reports suggest that Dhanush might work with Suriya in an upcoming movie. This project is rumored to be a dual-hero film, with both Dhanush and Suriya in leading roles. The movie is expected to be directed by Venky Atluri who previously worked with Dhanush on Vaathi. However, this collaboration is yet to be officially confirmed.

In addition, Dhanush is working on his own directorial projects. One of them is NEEK, which is set to release on February 21, 2025. This romantic comedy will feature Dhanush’s nephew Pavish in his acting debut. Dhanush is also directing Idly Kadai which is a feel-good comedy-drama. Idly Kadai is expected to release on April 10, 2025.
