SRK Gets Ignored By Netflix!
A lot of people eagerly waited to see 'Dunki' on the OTT platform and it has finally arrived on Netflix
A lot of people eagerly waited to see 'Dunki' on the OTT platform and it has finally arrived on Netflix. It started streaming from 15th February. While it was not as successful as 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' which collected over 1000 crores each, 'Dunki' too earned around 400 crores. The competition with 'Salaar' worked against the favor of 'Dunki' and many criticized this film by saying that it is Rajkumar Hirani's weakest work.
Usually, when Netflix is about to premiere a big movie, it promotes them in a grand fashion. They release a trailer and even arrange interviews prior to streaming it. They do everything to make sure that it gets a lot of views. Even for an average film like 'Guntur Karam', they released special trailer cuts and promoted it all over social media. They even painted a big Mahesh Babu picture on a five-storied building in Hyderabad. It went viral and we all knew the hype they created before streaming Prabhas' 'Salaar'. Even the 'Animal' team gave interviews for the Netflix team and did everything they could to make it trending.
All these films performed brilliantly on Netflix and got phenomenal views. But nothing of these sorts was done for 'Dunki'. Fans are not happy with Netflix handling an SRK film in this manner. The only thing they did was take a video byte of Shah Rukh Khan and post it on their social media platforms. The same platform promoted and advertised 'Jawan' in terrific fashion. People are wondering why 'Dunki' did not get the same treatment as 'Guntur Karam' or 'Salaar' or 'Animal'. Also, we have seen the popular OTT platform giving huge sums of money for interesting Telugu and Tamil projects lately.
