Grandeur and big scale have always been the hallmark of Shankar's films. Right from 'Gentleman' to 'Indian 2', he has never compromised when it comes to providing a visual feast for the audience. He brought a lot of new technology to South cinema and his 'Robo' was a game-changer on many fronts. No matter the content, Shankar is far ahead of others when it comes to vision and making the audience awestruck.

With 'Indian 2' arriving in 10 days, he is promoting the film by giving numerous interviews. Talking about his future projects, Shankar revealed that he wants to make 'James Bond' kind of movies along with historical and science-fiction projects. He is not planning to make regular films anytime soon as he says that he plans to make only big films which have a lot of significance to VFX work.

Talking about working with SRK, he said, “After the release of Robot, I met Shah Rukh Khan a couple of times for a film, but things didn't fall in place. Now, if a script comes in my mind, which is suitable for SRK sir, I will definitely do that.” He even talked about planning sequels for his hit movies like 'Nayak', 'Shivaji' and 'Aparichitudu'.

He says, “Most of my films are in the common man point of view. So, when a movie connects with the whole country, it becomes a pan-India film. Everything that audiences want me to do, like Apirichit 2, Sivaji 2 and Nayak 2; Sometimes, even I think I should do them. But for the sake of doing a sequel, I don't want to do. The subject should hit me, fragmant slowly and it should grow. If it happens in my mind, definitely I will do. But I am not sure right now. Right now, I don't have any idea of any sequel of my film.”

Apparently, Shankar had the idea of a crossover with his iconic movie character back in 2008 but it was dismissed by his team. He claimed, “When I was doing Robot in 2008, I came up with an idea of bringing Hindustani, Sivaji and 'ek din ka mukhya mantri' (One day's Chief Minister, aka Anil Kapoor in Nayak), together in the script. I first told this idea to my assistants and they were looking at me like that (glances confusedly). There was no reaction. They were like what he is talking, about bringing all the characters together. I told two other main technicians and they just gave a smile and moved away. After 2-3 years, The Avengers came.”

Talking about AI, he said that it is not as powerful as the human brain. He stated that human thoughts will always be ahead of AI. He concluded by saying that he would use the required technology for his script but not vice-versa.
