Every Sankranthi season, Sharwanand has often been associated with films that attract strong attention from Telugu audiences. His upcoming period action drama Bhogi was also expected to join the Sankranthi race. However, fans will now have to wait a little longer for the film.

The makers have officially postponed the release of Bhogi because the VFX work is taking more time than expected. The team wants to make sure the visual effects match the film’s large-scale period setting and action sequences. A new release date will be announced soon.

Directed by Sampath Nandi, Bhogi is set in a fictional village located on the Telangana-Maharashtra border during the early 1960s. The film has a strong rustic period backdrop, and the makers are reportedly giving special attention to the visual presentation.

The team has already completed a huge 30-day schedule for the climax. The climax was filmed on a specially created large set to give the movie a grand period feel. With most of the shooting completed, the makers are now concentrating mainly on post-production and VFX work.

Sharwanand plays a physically transformed character named Ganga in the movie. Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi are playing the female leads. The film is produced by KK Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner.

The technical team includes cinematographer Kishor Kumar and music director Bheems Ceciroleo. Since the movie depends heavily on its period world, action scenes and visual effects, the makers have decided not to rush the release.
