Shraddha Kapoor Walks Out Film Boldly, Shocks Filmmakers

Shraddha Kapoor’s name has always drawn attention, but it’s her recent bold move that’s stirred up conversations in industry circles. Reports claim she’s walked away from a much-talked-about thriller directed by Tumbbad’s Rahi Anil Barve, which was backed by producer Ekta Kapoor. The buzz is that the actress had asked for Rs 17 crore plus a share of profits terms that reportedly didn’t sit well with the production house.

While neither the director nor the team has officially confirmed her exit, Barve took to social media, asking everyone to ignore the gossip and promising an announcement in due time. He refused to comment directly on Shraddha’s involvement but mentioned that his focus right now is on completing Rakt Brahmand writing, which is starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu for Netflix, and prepping for his next film. Industry insiders, however, suggest that the makers are already approaching other actresses to take the lead.

The sharp turn in talks has surprised many, especially since Shraddha’s career had picked up steam again with the massive success of Stree 2. It’s not unusual for actors to negotiate tough, but insiders say her fee for a female-led thriller might have been more than the makers were prepared for. Whether it was about pay or creative differences, the fallout has been louder than expected.

Despite the stir, Shraddha isn’t short of offers. She’s expected to return for Stree 3, is still attached to the ambitious Naagin trilogy, and is said to be in talks with top production banners. While one door may have shut, she’s clearly in no rush choosing roles, not scrambling for them.
