In recent times, the item songs trend in Tollywood has reached a new craze with big films trying to rope in popular hotties to shake a leg with the leading man. While Sukumar roped in a newcomer like Pooja Hegde for Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam, later, the same director got Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Sreeleela for the Pushpa series of films. Chiranjeevi has shaken a leg with Mouni Roy for Vishwambhara. Coming to the upcoming film Ram Charan’s Peddi, after a lot of consultations, Shruti Haasan was finally roped in for the role.

Well, while Samantha badly needed the Pushpa item song it get back into fame, she’s said to have charged very little for the same. Later, with the likes of Disha Patani and Shraddha Kapoor demanding more than ₹6 crores for Pushpa 2, the makers finally got Sreeleela to do the Kissik song, and she was paid ₹2 crores as per the industry buzz. The latest buzz is that Shruti Haasan has charged more than before, taking home a whopping ₹3 crores for the special number with her ‘Yevadu’ co-star Ram Charan. Earlier, Shruti did a special number with Nani as well for “Hi Nanna”, but she’s said to have taken home less than a crore for the same. Of course, it depends on the banner, the budget of the film, and the star hero they’re asking for.

Currently, the shooting of this special item number is going on, and the song will be shot for 4 days, full-length, owing to the strong dance choreography involved. That said, already some videos have been leaked from the sets of Peddi, showcasing Shruti in her spicy avatar while Charan appears rugged and colorful in attire. The film is set for a June 25th release, and the makers have plenty of time now to wrap the post-production formalities. With Janhvi Kapoor playing the lead and AR Rahman composing music, already Peddi is carrying a lot of buzz.
