Nag Ashwin Is Everything For This Film: Singeetham

The pre-release event of Sing Geetham turned into much more than a promotional gathering. It became a heartfelt celebration of creativity, and cinema as legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao shared the stage with Kamal Haasan.

For producer Ashwini Dutt, the occasion was deeply personal. He recalled launching a film with Singeetham nearly 25 years ago, only for the project to be shelved due to unforeseen circumstances. The unfinished dream stayed with him for decades until Nag Ashwin, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt revived it through Sing Geetham.

Kamal Haasan revealed that the origins of the film date back almost 45 years. During his early creative discussions with Singeetham, two story ideas emerged. One eventually evolved into the iconic Pushpaka Vimanam, while the other remained dormant, waiting for the right time to be realized.

Speaking about his longtime collaborator, Kamal said Singeetham’s imagination and curiosity remain as vibrant as ever. He described him as a filmmaker who is always ahead of his time, constantly exploring new ideas and inspiring everyone around him with his passion for storytelling.

Recalling the making of Pushpaka Vimanam, Kamal highlighted the team's uncompromising commitment to quality. He emphasized that great cinema begins with a powerful idea, adding that Sing Geetham is rooted in one such extraordinary concept.

When Singeetham Srinivasa Rao took the microphone, the atmosphere turned emotional. Remaining true to his nature, the veteran filmmaker spoke with remarkable honesty and humility. He credited Nag Ashwin and the Vyjayanthi Movies team for believing in the project and making it a reality. “Nag Ashwin is everything for the film. He treated me like his own father, and took best care of me.” He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the younger generation for carrying the dream forward with such dedication.

Singeetham reserved special praise for Devi Sri Prasad for understanding the essence of the film and acknowledged Kamal Haasan as one of his most treasured creative companions.

The defining moment of the evening came through Singeetham’s speech itself. His sincerity, gratitude, and humility touched everyone present, making it the most memorable and emotional highlight of the event.
