Release Troubles For 'Skanda' In Overseas!
Despite getting some decent deals earlier, the producer of 'Skanda' did not compromise on the rate.
Considering the success rate and collections, Boyapati Sreenu is one of the top directors in Tollywood. But he is unable to get a decent market in the overseas arena. Films of Sukumar and Trivikram earn over 2 million no matter who the hero is. But the oora mass movies of Boyapati do not impress the audiences abroad for some reason. His movies do not get sold for even a million.
He churned out blockbusters like Balakrishna but they are not hits in the US. Despite 'Akhanda' doing well, his upcoming film 'Skanda' is not releasing with any kind of buzz abroad. After looking at the bloodshed and violence in the trailer, they lost all hope in the movie as they don't encourage such mindless mass movies. Despite getting some decent deals earlier, the producer of 'Skanda' did not compromise on the rate.
But the situation changed completely after the trailer dropped. The buyers are quoting very low rates and the overseas business is yet to be wrapped up. While the business in the Telugu states have been good so far, the overseas market is proving to be a disappointment. There are premiers for this film in the US and the buyers are not willing to risk huge money on this action-packed film.
Ram Pothineni is the hero of this film while Sreeleela and Saiee Manjrekar are the heroines. Thaman is the music composer while Srikanth, Prince, Gauthami and others play crucial roles. The movie is hitting the screens on 15th September.
