SKN’s Popcorn Rate Punch To Producer?

Recently, a star producer in Tollywood stated that audiences are not coming to theatres because they are scared by popcorn prices. The comment is a bit shocking, and many responded to that on social media, saying, make good films first. However, speaking at the success meet of Chennai Love Story, producer SKN has given a punch to that line.
“If a film’s content is good, the audience will rush to theatres. They don’t get scared by popcorn rates, but only by bad content. So we have to focus on delivering good content, rather than crying about popcorn rates,” said SKN at the event. Well, that’s partially true, because if a film’s content is good, the audience will come to theatres flocking no matter about ticket prices and popcorn rates. That’s how many films make a huge fortune these days.
However, at the same time, if popcorn and ticket prices are always low, then even average-content movies will get more footfalls. Because if a film is being offered to watch at low cost, surely people will watch it even if it's not so superb. That’s called affordability. So, filmmakers should think both sides of the coin and take steps accordingly.
