“These days, some say that audiences are not coming to theatres, but there’s nothing like that. If you make an honest film with good content, thereby respecting the audience, and put the ticket price at an affordable price, surely the audience will come to theatres and roll out a red carpet for the movie,” says producer SKN, who is known for films like Baby then and Chennai Love Story now.

“If we give respect to the audience, they will come for re-release movies also. If we don’t give, they won’t turn up for the pre-release event also,” says SKN, in his trademark witty style. He further elaborated that in recent times, people have turned up and showered huge collections for Peddi first, Maa Inti Bangaram later, Lenin now, and expressed confidence that even his Chennai Love Story with Kiran Abbavaram and Sai Gouri Priya will get similar attention. SKN’s revelations are like good pointers for Tollywood; we have to see if the makers will take it.

Talking about the business of Chennai Love Story, SKN haven’t agreed to any number, though it’s rumoured that the movie has already made ₹35 crore in the theatrical business, but stated that they have made a solid OTT deal. Directed by Sai Razesh of Baby movie fame, Chennai Love Story is hitting cinemas on July 23rd, which is next Friday.
