Telugu girl Sobhita Dhulipala is known for her strong choices when it comes to script selection. To this day, she never played a regular commercial heroine role. No matter how much her screen time is, she prefers roles that leave an impact on the audience. She played key roles in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus film 'PS – 2' and her two seasons of 'Made In Heaven' became very popular as always.
She has now stepped into Hollywood with 'Monkey Man' which released recently. Written, directed and produced by Dev Patel, this film is a complete action drama. He is the main lead actor as well and Sobhita played the role of sita who pleasures powerful people and despicable. Talking about doing the role of a call girl, Sobhita has this to say.
“Those are really beautifully complex humans. To be considered someone who can be trusted with characters like that is really an honour… If something inspires me or there's some value I can bring to the story, I want to belong with it”, she says. Sobhita auditioned for the role of Sita even before the release of her first film 'Raman Raghav 2.0'.
She discussed about her dynamic with Dev Patel where she said, “It's a different kind of relationship altogether. There's trust, fear, vulnerability, and you move as one pack, one team. There's a certain purity and passion there — working with a first-time filmmaker. So I came on board, I jumped on board.” While the movie released all over the world on 5th April but it is expected to hit the screens on 19th April as it is yet to get the approval of the Central Board Of Film Certification.
