Local Media Hugely Upset With Rajamouli

During the release of the Varanasi glimpse, SS Rajamouli’s lead actors, including Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, were made to give special interviews to Hollywood channels. Later on, whatever the single update about the film, including the facts about the film’s shooting locations and the sets of Varanasi built in Hyderabad, it is being given to Hollywood media houses only. In a way, Rajamouli is making sure that every update of Varanasi comes to the world through American media houses. That’s the catch, however.

Many local Telugu and Bollywood media folks are right now talking about why Rajamouli is avoiding these media houses here. While he’s avoiding Telugu media since the release of Baahubali 1, as he felt that negativity is being spread here by the media, right now he is also avoiding Bollywood media when it comes to giving updates. This is hugely upsetting for the Hindi media folks too, because they always thought that they were in the good books of Rajamouli.

However, Rajamouli is promoting this Varanasi as an international movie, and only if updates come from Hollywood media channels, it looks authentic. He wants the film to have a big global release, while Telugu states will embrace the film anyway just with one press meet or pre-release event. At the same time, the film will run in Hindi hinterlands as well, as it is coming from the Baahubali and RRR maker. So, Rajamouli now wants to conquer an international audience, hence the Hollywood way!
