Thaman's Creativity Faces Music After #OG High

Tollywood’s prominent music specialist SS Thaman is often hailed as the maestro with a golden touch. There are times when films did extremely well at the Box Office only due to his songs first.

Later, his background score also did the talking as the likes of Akhanda and DJ Tillu enjoyed massive success only due to the amazing BGM delivered by him. Looks like this superiorly talented composer is now facing music for his own musical creations.

After the loud music of Akhanda 2 failed to entice music lovers, even in mass centres, Thaman has fallen in the eyes of critics. Adding woes to that, the songs coming from Prabhas Raja Saab are not so engaging. Recently, we have seen Thaman’s creation for Pawan Kalyan’s #OG has shattered all the expectations and turned out to be instant charbusters, thus playing a key role in the film’s success. However, including the other day released Sahana song from Raja Saab, Thaman’s work sparked mixed reactions. Some feel that the maestro’s creativity may be losing its edge.

Many listeners are pointing out that Sahana song sounds familiar and lacks the freshness expected from the composer of Thaman’s calibre. Going by his OG track record, Raja Saab's songs are comparatively flat and somewhat predictable.

Creativity versus consistency is always an important aspect in mainstream film music, and we have to see if Thaman lives up to the expectations with the background score of the Prabhas starrer.
