Buzz: Is Lady Director Lying Before The Court?
Months later, now, Sudha has filed a case in Court that she had agreed to be paid ₹15 crores in remuneration for the film, but now almost ₹8.39 crores are pending.
Telugu-origin director Sudha Kongara made a name for herself in Tamil movies, and recently came up with the film Parasakthi that features Siva Karthikeyan and Sreeleela in the leads. The film is considered a big flop at the box office, but then, the producers, Dawn Entertainment, have claimed that they are 100% commercially successful with the movie.
Months later, now, Sudha has filed a case in Court that she had agreed to be paid ₹15 crores in remuneration for the film, but now almost ₹8.39 crores are pending. She wanted to stall the release of “Idhayam Murali” movie by the producers, which is hitting cinemas on July 10th. The Court has, however, refused to stall the release of this film but then entertained Sudha’s petition, regarding which Dawn Entertainment claimed that the lady director is withholding lots of information from the Court.
The producers revealed to the Court that they had acquired the rights to “Parasakthi” originally from 2D Entertainment (Hero Suriya’s production house), as Sudha Kongara developed this script for them in 2021. Dawn Entertainment paid 2D Entertainment a sum of ₹5.8 crore, while 2D Entertainment paid Sudha Kongara ₹4.12 crore as part of a settlement. The owners of Dawn Entertainment now allege that Sudha is hiding this payment, which also counts as remuneration.
What will be found in the Court proceedings in the coming days is nothing short of a cinematic story if these happenings are anything to go by.
