Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shares a special connection with director Mani Ratnam. She has collaborated with him on several films like Iruvar, Guru, Raavan, and PS I and II. In a recent interview, Suhasini Maniratnam, Mani Ratnam's wife, spoke about Aishwarya and described her as a genuinely caring person. She even compared her to Florence Nightingale.

In the interview, Suhasini Maniratnam said, "When I see Aishwarya, I feel truly delighted. I know her personally, and while many admire her for her beauty, I see her as a kind-hearted person. She possesses qualities that the public might not always see. For instance, if someone falls ill, she'll be the first to come and take care of them. She'll offer advice on what to eat, and she has a nurturing nature. Aishwarya Rai is like Florence Nightingale."

On the other hand during a promotional event for Ponniyin Selvan II earlier this year, Mani Ratnam also praised Aishwarya and said, "Filmmakers can be quite self-centered and indifferent. The only thing they truly care about is the film. As much as I love her (Aishwarya), I only approach her if I believe she is the right fit for a role. Every time I've asked her, it's because I genuinely believed she was perfect for the part, and she has been kind enough to accept. So, she isn't just a good luck charm for me; it's her talent and personality that make her ideal for these roles."
