Sukumar's Daughter Sukriti Wins Dada Saheb Phalke Award!

Sukriti is currently studying in Grade 8 at the International School of Hyderabad.

Maverick director Sukumar's daughter Sukriti Veni Bandreddi has won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the Best Child Artist category. She received the award for her wonderful performance in a film titled 'Gandhi Thatha Chettu'. It has a strong message and Sukriti Veni played the lead.


Sukriti is currently studying in Grade 8 at the International School of Hyderabad. The film has been screened and awarded at many international film festivals in the past. The award was conferred at a ceremony held in New Delhi on Tuesday. Sukriti won awards in the Best Debutante Child Artist category. The film also won the Best Picture Award at the 11th Noida International Film Festival, Jury Best Film and Best Regional Film at the New Delhi Film Festival, Jury Best Film at the Jaipur International Film Festival and at the 8th Indian World Film Festival.


The movie is going to be screened in many other international film festivals as well and it got invitations from many. The message of this film is about environmental protection. Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Sesha Sindhu Rao are its producers under Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings and Gopi Talkies banners. The film is directed by Padmavathi Malladi and Tabitha Sukumar is its presenter.


On the work front, Sukumar is currently directing 'Pushpa: The Rule' which is being made on a grand scale. Icon Star Allu Arjun is the hero and the expectations on the movie are massive. Mythri Movie Makers are producing it while Fahadh Fasil and Rashmika Mandanna are playing important roles. It is going to hit the screens on 15th August 2024.
