SIIMA 2025 is heading to Dubai on September 5 and 6, and the build-up has already started. A press meet in Hyderabad brought together several big names from South cinema. The organisers also used the occasion to honour this year’s National Award winners, including Anil Ravipudi, Sai Rajesh, producer Sahu Garapati, singer Rohit, director Prashanth Varma, and VFX artist Venkat from HanuMan. The event had an easy, celebratory feel, no big speeches, just genuine appreciation for each other’s work.
Sundeep Kishan was clear about why he values SIIMA. For him, it’s more than an award show. Born in the Telugu states, it has grown into a platform that takes South Indian cinema to an international stage. He said most of his professional collaborations in the South started with connections made through SIIMA, which makes the event even more special to him.
Others at the event echoed similar feelings. The praise wasn’t just for the glitter or red carpet, but for how SIIMA consistently gives space to all kinds of films and talent, from star-led blockbusters to smaller, independent projects. Many thanked Vishnu and Brinda for building an award brand that feels personal yet prestigious.
With just weeks to go before the Dubai celebrations, the excitement is already building. For Sundeep Kishan, this year is another chance to stand up for Telugu cinema, enjoy the company of peers, and see the South’s talent recognised on a global scale. September can’t come soon enough.
