Suriya Reveals His Top 5 Favourite Movies

Tamil star Suriya has shared the names of his five favourite films during a recent interview. The actor surprised fans by choosing movies from different languages. His list includes Sethu starring Vikram, Eega directed by SS Rajamouli, Aamir Khan’s Lagaan, his own romantic hit Kaakha Kaakha, and the Bollywood film Dhurandhar.

Suriya said every movie on his list has inspired him in a different way. He especially praised Dhurandhar, saying its writing and filmmaking were outstanding. According to him, the film is made with great care and deserves appreciation from everyone.

The actor also spoke about Kaakha Kaakha, which remains one of the most loved films of his career. Suriya shared that he and actress Jyotika fell in love while shooting for the movie. Their on-screen chemistry later turned into a real-life love story, and they got married in 2006.

In an exclusive interview, Suriya and Jyotika also spoke about why they have not acted together after marriage. Jyotika said the reason is very simple. She explained that no filmmaker has approached them with a suitable script. According to her, they were not seen as an on-screen pair after getting married, so they never even got a chance to accept or reject a film together.

Suriya agreed with her and said they never tried to create a project just for themselves. The couple revealed that they have never recommended each other for films produced by them. They believe such a collaboration should happen naturally if the right story comes their way.

Jyotika also said that while fans continue to shower them with love as a couple in real life, filmmakers have not explored them as an on-screen pair after marriage. Suriya jokingly added that perhaps they may finally work together again around their 20th wedding anniversary.

Before marriage, the couple starred together in popular films like Poovellam Kettuppar, Kaakha Kaakha, and Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. Since then, both have built successful careers with memorable performances in different films.
